Given your resolute certainty, do you actually know how much nickel would go into each EV if they were mostly NCM811 ?
Would it actually be practical to fully transition to a NCM811 solution with an annual global EV production of circa 100 mm pa?
Maybe there simply has to be another solution, and NCM 811 will be just a small part of the overall EV story?
Oh but in that case there would be investment uncertainty, can’t have that!
Transition to cheap EVs isn’t going to be solved NCM 811 and a rocketing nickel price. The solution will be more complex and fraught with more uncertainties - welcome to the real world, where the answer doesn’t come out of a textbook.
