US predator eyes Australian property trust.
A SURPRISE move by a US hedge fund on the register of Charter Hall Office REIT has sounded alarm bells for Australia's listed property trusts.
Sources said the hedge fund, Orange Capital, could be the first offshore group to take a position in underperforming listed trusts.
"Mr Lewis said interest in Centro Property Group and other mergers and acquisitions indicated sovereign wealth funds and global pension funds were seeking real estate assets."
