Yes, but the hardest part of changing it all is as what Richard White said - it's the legacy systems in built into these multi billion behemoths that have operated like these for decades.
You're talking about asking DHL, DB Schenker, Kuehne + Nagel, Sinotrans, Panalpina, Maersk, UPS, Hapag-Lloyd, Bollore, Damco, Toll Group, Agility and all these giants to change their ways.
This is akin to a chicken and the egg scenario.
DHL won't change because everything they do, is somehow tied or linked to how the rest of the industry do business. At any given time, there are around 60,000 cargo liner ships sailing the world, all carrying up to 100,000 deadweight tonnes of cargo.
It's one complex machinery and trying to get into that machine, pull out a rusty cog, and put in a new properly greased cog, all while this machine is running... that's not an easy task.
