they told people to stay at home, even if they have symptoms, and ONLY come to a hospital if they have respiratory problems

so you do not see the numbers for actual infections


very soon, the US will be in the same state as hospitals get overwhelmed and people will not get tested unless they are already being treated


so in short, the "case" numbers were more accurate in the early stages, and as the hospital and testing capacity gets maxed out, the death figures will be a more accurate indicator of overall virus spread
