On the history of Australia - traditionally if Labor is in power, they won't want to play. If the Liberal Party is in power - they'd be in the sandy bit before America saying 'come on why are you so slow'.

could the ME blow up to a world war? -- well, probably. Unless the world has all of a sudden come into a patch of wisdom - but, that appears most unlikely

Pints you answered this yourself. There are idiots in the US of A. Australia, at least our pollies, aren't smart. They'll jump in even quicker than the US.

We're probably not very smart for continuing to vote the pollies in at every election.
