Xanadu-1 is an exploration well, not a production well.
It is being drilled to find hydrocarbons (a certainty) and work out the (hopefully) oil column and the oil's characteristics. IF oil is found it is likely to be like treacle and will require pumping. IF oil is found there most likely would follow some 3D seismic and then production well(s).
