One of the leading US AD researchers at Columbia University says the new understanding about AD is focusing on preventing or fixing 2 causal events that he calls Broken Pathways:

1) Cells have a central distribution center for proteins and that mechanism for distribution is broken - resulting in disabling mal-protein driven structures.
2) There is a defective and "disease" causing immune response

The Cortisol hypothesis, while capable of and likely to improve multiple disease and debilitating conditions, seems highly applicable to at least the immune and inflammatory triggers behind AD, and it is also possible that it can positively affect acute and chronic stress (expressed by cortisol) induced synapse and structural brain changes. My only point, not being a researcher, is that we are among the leaders in the race for the next generation treatments for AD, in addition to other conditions. Cheersx3.
