Not sure if your statement is 100% spot on there as I believe there has been many instances where a Company has changed direction's with their principal business activities and done extremely well.Wasn't Z1P ( ZIP Co. Ltd ) previously ZML ( Zipmoney Ltd. ) who were previously RRE ( Rubianna Resources ) . And as previously pointed out in one of my earlier posts , they are now valued at a whopping $2.542 Billion.....
Loved to be proven wrong .....but isn't that them ....? Irrespective of if they are , there are plenty examples of successful Biotech and Tech Companies which were previously ' penny dreadful ' mining spec stocks......
