What’s true in China is also true in the west which is increasingly dependent on rare earth for future facing technology, global climate change and things that power the new economic base. We have been waiting a long time for various policy initiatives to take effect and impact price and it seems we might be there. At the same time I just finished ‘Material World’ and wonder how much governments are leaning on demand to keep inflation low and how much of a pop we can expect. The seesaw price action suggests that the market is being manipulated but by who? I am thinking it is world governments all motivated to keep the cost of inputs to their manufacturing base within what they consider to be reason. We will soon hear from Chrm. Powell and get some more insight.
