China wants to dominate in these fields, the New Productive Forces. To drive growth in electric vehicles, it benefits them to keep input costs down, therefore raw material prices like rare earths can and will be manipulated. Also, lower prices keep western entrants at bay. Amanda's is highly aware of the games that can be played and has a razor focus on cost and efficency, looking to grow to challenge that dominance. Western govts have become more alert to the China 'threat' in recent times so expect a lot more urgency in trying to curtail this dominance, especially now it appears China will flood global markets with these products. Support, subsidies, tax incentives, tariffs etc.etc. to become more commonplace than is usual in free market economies. Imo, rare earth price rises will be limited in the near future but Lynas still a winner.
