I would add, that US banks are a much more salubrious daytrade than Oz banks. Their daily tails and wicks are much more lively.
I ran a scan that totalled the ranges of the SP over the last 100 trading days, then calculated the daily average as a percentage of the SP.. The Australian big 5 all came in last. No wonder they call America the "Land of Opportunity". Go east, young man.
