    "So a graphics card company is dragging all stocks and indices to all time highs? Humorous but not surprising."

    Notice how the last 3 earnings the eps was up by 3 digits! On the ASX I dont think we have ever seen triple digit expansion in earnings?

    If you go back in time the first GPU "GE Force 256" had 17 million transistors & cost of $249 dollars (50 Giga Flops/sec)
    The current chip H100 has 80 billion transistors & cost $30000 (cost $3000 to manufacture so nice profit margin)(60 Tera Flops/sec)
    Only 1/2 million manufactured this year.

    With applications like virtual computing (Vmware) some of the number crunching was off loaded to the GPU as they are quicker than the CPU's.
    AI applications have much bigger workloads for large language models so need a GPU capable of many more floating point calculations / sec.
