Cisco routers/switches used to be the best, probably still are but computers do a lot more of it, virtual machines also, virtual switches as software. Linux boxes are more practical nowadays and cheaper. Their VoIP used to be the best along with their phones, that used to be installed on a router, now it's a server pc. People don't need a piece of expensive hardware to interconnect computers as much anymore. I wouldn't buy Cisco shares.
