    I don't think Australia was ever planning to raise interest rates, they were bewildered when the US started to raise and I felt they were dragging their feet. Having an inflation target up to 3% and rates just a little higher than that, also people have to pay capital gains on any interest making saving in AUD too hard to get ahead.
