"As an aside, I don't understand why people don't reveal their Hotcopper profiles,
what is there to hide?"


Admittedly, much can be deduced about a member by their posting style.
For example, I clicked on a member's profile (for the sake of exposition let's call him ProfessorBeta-Male-in-a-new-timezone).

So I click on the profile and I see this:




Undeterred, I read some of the aforementioned member's posts and I quickly deduced:

- Is a Newbie, New to Hotcopper and new to the markets, I'd say 2017 ... 2016 Tops
- Makes inauspicious start by committing every single newbie blunder in the book : ASX:BIG, ASX:TTT, ASX WNX, ASX:HLF ... etc etc
- Chastened by the ruthlessness of the markets, reinvents himself as a fantasy index paper trader (with charts ... lol)
- 10 years at uni, I reckon, three degrees, low level academic job - lab assistant - part time - is my guess
- Unable to compete in the Australian mainstream, flees country to new timezone for new "opportunities" in the hospitality space
