The blue bars are times of recession. If the calculations for the inflation rate were not changed over time, I would suggest we suffered inflation that equalled the 1980s era. That time marked a similar 10 - 2 variance. It was also a time when the recession was followed by another recession.
As I have mentioned, deflation is worse than inflation. 2008 suffered a period of deflation where asset prices plummeted. It was close around 2015 too.
As pointed out by our YT narrators, falling interest rates are a signal that things are going badly. Time his is not different.
