The gap close could have been the final signal or could have been another distraction from the main event. The market doesn't need to push higher as the gap has closed therefore the new series of shorters getting burnt once more?
It has been the case under every administration in the US to manipulate the BIS employment numbers. Trump was 500k but the other guys were in the millions.
I do believe that these are still being manipulated due to the election but I am considering that there is a slight chance it might be possible they have achieved their goal. Have they enrolled the ADP to help their case or has someone provided bonuses to businesses to hire at present? Impossible to have won due to the suffering that is taking place in the US and around the globe is what grounds my thoughts.
Remember also, good news is bad news. No need for more interest rate cuts. If this economy was good, why the 50 basis point cut straight off the block. Deflation anyone? Smoke and mirrors.
