Thank you for publicising one of my best investments ever, Professor Beta Male.
Wesfarmers is the nearest thing to Berkshire Hathaway we have in this country.
They have made many people, including myself, a lot of money.
in particular, my decision to participate in the 2009 rights issue, when WES were raising money to finance the Coles acquisition.
I paid $13.50 for each WES share. $13.50!!
WES is now worth $68.
It has since paid $33.50 in dividends and CR's.
It has spun-off a free Coles share now worth $18 (and has itself paid $3.50 in dividends).
All in all a 1,400% return on investment and my initial $50K investment is now worth $700K (a reaonable sum of money)
I would suggest that my WES investment stacks up well against the Covid trades below:
