Trump says U.S. will double steel tariffs to 50%


Well I guess tariffs are back on the table, this is what you get when you upset the orange child. However while we are currently in the "TACO trade" where traders are laughing and ignoring Trump they might find out how serious he is. I expect a lot more tariffs to be thrown into the mix with no more backflips.

In addition a high probability IMO they use the existing emergency laws to increase the baseline tariff from 10 percent to 15 percent for the next 150 days. The more people provoke him the more he responds. Keep an eye on China also, sounds like he is getting ready for another major trade war escalation.
