I would agree for now but for different reasons. China isn't the reason IMO they have considerable stock piles of oil both strategic and commercial I believe, so closing the straits wouldn't affect them as it would us. Might be to their advantage if you think about it.

Remember the US used to have stockpiles well until Biden depleted those reserves to help with his election and to my knowledge no one ever really replaced them. But closing the straits has always been a last resort for Iran if they are given no choice.

And after reading the statements out of Israel over the last week I am not sure Iran will be given a choice in the end. As I have been posting I hope this war does end but I am not convinced. Not yet anyway so the threat to the straits remains IMO.
