Powell emphasizes Fed’s obligation to prevent ‘ongoing inflation problem’ despite Trump criticism

Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell on Tuesday said he expects policymakers to stay on hold until they have a better handle on the impact tariffs will have on prices.

There is that pesky word again "tariffs". I wonder if they have something to do with that other word I was trying to teach the "covid kids" yesterday, "economics"? But wait Trump told us he was signing 200 trade deals just the other month. Which is brilliant work since there are only 195 countries in the world?

But if we haven't signed any of them yet, last I heard Japan walked off along with many others then could that mean this "war" as suggested previously might be a distraction? After all what does every President do when they completely "screw the pooch" and can't blame the prior president anymore? That's right, start a war.

Then you can just blame the crash/collapse that follows on someone else in the confusion. Now it seems Powell also appears to understand what is really going on so rates higher for longer it seems? Still at least the market is getting closer to giving the "covid kids" that "formal education" they are so lacking :
