To my original post, 2 more up days is highly likely to provide the reasoning behind a 1% increase in interest rates. As pointed out by others here, this shows there is still much demand in stocks by retail which results in inflation.

A 1% rise would also provide benefits to any of your friends who are positioned for a fall in the markets.
