What could possibly be more bearish for markets than a new ice age?

Your post about ice age cycles is spot on. This is why many geologists think that if there ever is a real climate emergency it will be because of rapid global cooling, not global warming. Ice core research shows that rapid cooling usually happens at the start of an ice age. It happens very fast. The speed at which a new ice age begins has been estimated to be typically about forty years to go from current temps to being fully in an ice age with much of the northern hemisphere covered by ice.

By the way, just so that nobody gets worried or confused, recent cool weather during the last year is not cold enough to signal that a new ice age is beginning. Apart from having a rapid onset, ice ages happen in geological time. In other words, slow motion. There might be another thousand years to go before the next ice age begins. Meanwhile, temps will go up and down as they always do.
