It originates much earlier with the shift of most manufacturing to China over the decades under the premise of China becoming more western (and never happened). Why did the US (being extremely anti communist at the time) allow itself to turn into a pro communist friend of China. Cheap goods is what most would answer but maybe scratching below the surface the plan has been a change to the social and economic structure of the West.

And how the US indices finished last night is a complete taunt at the Fed with a massive red cape. Please put the interest rates up further. This has broken the sideways trading pattern of the last several weeks (engineered post Xmas rally?). Nice way to shake out the bears and shorts before reporting season.

- Immigration policies changing (Hart-Celler Act in USA, "racial discrimination act" in Australia)
- Feminism pushing women into the workforce
- Reserve banks now able to print

These are the key points that have led to the shrinking of the middle class and the depression of quality of life/depressing of wages/appreciation of assets.
