I think she will make as a good an RBA governor as we have ever had, she seems to be made of the right stuff, having ascended to the top job in her Dept with a $1M salary. Ambitious, but measured and logical is how she strikes me.
But I think Ive said before you dont need to pay someone that much to pull the levers. For a lousy $50K I'll tak a walk downturn and survey small business (the backbone of the economy) and pedestrians. Oh, and taxi drivers too of course.
You'll soon feel the heartbeat of the economy, and what is really going on.
Did you play the ABC video of the Hobart City Mission on the page of the in
the link you provided? Big increase in support required and signals how the lower income bracket is coping with the the economic downturn and inflation. Hobart is a big city of 150K+ pop., but the Tasmanian economy is in recession. I know in some Tas shires, or maybe all of them, ratepayers pay $600 p.a. water access rates, then add usage charges on top. Fuel, food and everything has to cost more than what it does on the mainland?
Any Qlders here? Over the last 10 years the electricty suppliers have saddled us with a bullshit "service charge" to have electricity delivered to your property. Its now about $1.30 a day, or $500 a year! So now our beloved ghu bmint has introduced $550 p.a. rebate for our electricity costs. Pfft! Whats the ####ing point? Just get rid of the service charge!
Qld 4 cyl car rego $770 pa, In New Mexico, USA,
rego fees range from USD$27 to $62 p.a.,
Qld Drivers licence fees are $32 p.a., In New Mexico, USA,
yearly drivers licence fees about USD$4.50This is another reason why there is a big exodus from California and similarly expensive states, , the house prices, property taxes and regulatory fees there are insane and people cant afford it anymore. New Mexico is nice, I wouldnt mind living in Alburquerque.
But yeah, We're governed by idiots who will bleed you dry every way possible.
