I'm sure everyone has worked with a few people you could say the same about. We've got several trillion transistors and yet, people do stupid things.

AI will remove a lot of people from technical jobs. Less people working, less people can buy stuff. Less people buy, the less companies will make money. Now it makes sense... WEF says we need to have less people in the world. WEF is full of billionaires who control the companies. Bingo.

"But AI will create new jobs". Probably not in this case, as many new jobs are likely to be done by smarter AI processes.

Just like from Stark the book, their new society will fall down because of hairdressers.
