    Notice that lithium is the smallest component in this example, and nickel is the largest.
    Because nickel is rare & expensive and lithium is not, people like Musk want to produce more LFP batteries as opposed to NMC.
    However, Tesla have also recently partnered in a nickel mine...

    LFP batteries are cheaper but have less range and life.

    Another issue is that the expensive components cobalt & nickel are what make recycling the batteries economically viable.
