Novice question: in the commentary on this board there seem to be some unspoken assumptions about how the XJO is coupled to the SP500 -- with SP500 charts being regularly posted here. @redbacka, @Jako8557, and others, could you guys please shed some light on how you view the coupling between XJO and the US market?
It was noted here recently that XJO has not seen the steady growth that is apparent on the SP500 chart, yet the XJO reacted strongly to this recent pullback in US markets. When I look at the 5 year charts of XJO vs SP500, it's not clear to me what is driving the correlation: XJO seems much more volatile, and is more responsive to dips in the SP500 than to gains.
I've been following this board for about 6 months now, I'm learning a lot. Many thanks to all posters!
