Hi Jako,
The Elliott Wave guys talk about an "ending diagonal". That occurs at the conclusion of a five-wave impulsive up trend. So the EW guys tend to show those when they occur. And that results in a lot of "rising wedges" being shown late in trends.
Traditional TA doesn't make an special mention, as far as I know, as to where a Rising Wedge might appear.
The big thing is duration - that distinguishes it from a pennant.
A Rising Wedge is longer than three weeks in duration.
