Are you for real ... I wonder whether you have read the book or just read one of the reviews ... the book is all about probability and gambling - see references to Thorp and Vegas. Are you telling me that Ed Thorp has no idea of betting ... Bachelier, Ed Thorp, Pascal, Osborne, Shannon, Samuelson and it goes on. All significant figures in the field and you try to underscore them with some flipant remark. I suggest you buy the book and read it and you might actually learn something about betting.
