Someone stated no US pre election year has ever been negative.

It seems there is just one and that was down 2%.

So SPX needs to close above 1257 to be positive.

Interestingly that is a major resistance level.

The next pre election year is 2015 and no "5" year has been negative so that must be a bet on the upside.

My 10 year bond charts suggest the next peak in rates here is July 2015 so most of the market gains in 2015 might be in the first half.

Contrary to the thinking of non market people, rates rising is a market positive and falling rates are negative.

Simple really as you only raise rates in a boom and drop them in a slump.
