So it a form of Ponzi Scheme, where survival of the most cunning consumes the bread of productivity produced outside the scheme and returns some that bread back into circulation to be the reward for future productivity by representatives of the 90% who lose their shirts feeding it.

Makes a whole lot of sense now.

It looks like a privately run free-for-all taxation system in that regard.
