    Yeah, the MACD calc is easy being just the 26d EMA - 12 day EMA or whatever time frames you want to use. Everyone glosses over the signal line by saying just take the 9 day EMA of the MACD. Sounds easy until you realise that you do not have a base number to work from, ie. there is no "close" data you can use.
