The changes as you call them, (EMA crossovers) don't have any impact on the gaps on a 5 minute chart at all. The gaps are there whatever time frame for cross overs you use. Here is an empirical study for you to peruse if you wish.

It has taken me many years to come up with this system. You can use whatever system you like. I kind of got lost at the goat entrails, but whatever turns you on. I thought I was contributing to the XJO thread by showing folks what they can't see unless you have the data feed, that's all. I've said this before, if I am not wanted or appreciated, I have better things to do. cheers
