There should be an ASX rule which says bids placed during the auction period cannot be removed till after the auction closes. That would put a stop to the pathetic fake bid nonsense that goes on. At any other auction, once you place a bid for something you can't suddenly decide to cancel it.
But that would be asking the ASX to come up with something sensible and sadly that would be asking too much.
