I think we need to understand in detail how Xped can make $ from this product registration system too.

̵ Automatic Customer Registration
̵ Streaming of Device Usage Data
̵ Big Data Analytics

Deals may not directly be with Xped now for above i.e. rather via Microsoft Azure deals/partnerships with others and Intel's deals/partnerships with others too. Both Intel and Microsoft are commercialising their products at this moment. JMO
