Yeah, I would say stop trying to justify buying because it seems that's what you *want* to do. Instead try to decide if you should buy, sell, or wait.
As an onlooker with said patience, I can't see why you'd buy above 2.8 now unfortunately.
It's a clear downtrend until such time as it turns around.
