That's what I was getting at ....then my post got zapped. If you have a heap of products that need controlling you can either build each controlling 'thing' or base all of them off some form of commonality that removes the whole connection problem whilst you concentrate on the functions to be delivered.
For the grumpy ones I am talking about XPED.
I currently run a wireless home security system made up of things from several manufacturers, what a pain in the b*m to manage.
