I would look at it from a different angel and while I do appreciate your view mine is just a different, but if I was Intel I would want to show the competition that as a company they have all the fires buring and ready to go and show off what they have and to always have the first advantage. You never know what technology or what company is lurking in the dark who can take that first advantage away without warning.
Also I thought that when the agreement is signed it must be made public through the ASX inmediately? So intel or XPE may not have any say when they release the information once signed. If Intel didnt sign the agreement and saving it for the next wave I feel be doing themselves a disadvantage.
