I am not a supporter of the ALP by any means.
HOWEVER, Bill Shorten does have a good point when he calls for a Royal Commission into the Australian Banking sector - which absolutely has to include an investigation into the Algo trading.
No one I have ever spoken to agrees algo trading is designed to help us small retail investors/traders.
Most agree it is institutional daylight robbery, allowed only because we have never had an investigation into it.
