I think we all learn hard lessons. Early on I made what was for me a very large loss. At the time I thought of it as a very expensive mistake. But what I took away from it helped me so much in my investing. I now consider it to be a great value lesson.
In this game you're very rarely able to stick it to the man. Better off trying to become the man (or woman). In case that sounds conceited, I'll add that I am not the man (prepubescent boy maybe).
