I think you could be on to something.
IMO, the positive actions - reduced executive pays, buy shares on market, as mentioned need to be taken as they have not hit their own targets.
In the corporate world, if you don't deliver your in trouble.
Time to conserve funds or deliver results in a hurry IMO. Not just acquisition deals - cash receipts of sufficient volume are required.
Deliver first, reward second is a good policy.
