"buy" revenues as you put it may have been in the back of their minds the whole time, rapid expansion into a sector through acquisition. It's done all the time.
That's what the quarterly report is for, to update stakeholders on the financial situation of a company. I don't think it is necessary to put out an announcement every time they make money. I would much prefer they don't announce anything than risk a deal falling through because it was announced too early.
