Version 1 of the app is now in the app store in case you want to download it and take a look.
I doesn't actually do anything at all currently except allow you to create an account and sign in.
It didn't find any of my IOT devices and prompts to say that "No Hub found" ....so the app requires a hub which seems a bit lame. Other IOT apps find my devices and control them.....so I am not sure what XPE is doing releasing something that obviously only works with its own hub and hardware.
Very disappointed indeed.
