Limited (ASX:XPE) an Internet of Things company is on the verge of delivering a revolutionary IoT platform to the market. Xped is transitioning from the R&D phase to production. To achieve this goal we are require passionate people with a strong delivery focus, who have had previous experience in delivering software to the market.
About you:
Although highly desirable, but not essential, applicants with IoT software/firmware development experience or exposure would be a distinct advantage. We seek talented Software Engineers with a focus on security and delivering robust 'production ready' software. The ideal candidate will be passionate about software automation and continuous delivery. You will have strong C++ and nodejs development experience preferable in the IoT space. This position provides end to end software development, design, test, and development modifications to current software infrastructures to enable the transition into production supportable environments that scale.
The successful applicant will be part of the Xped Cloud team, so should have a strong understanding of serverless architecture offered by AWS.
Core Responsibilities include:
- Develop, code, test, and document new applications and systems from team discussions and design specification documents
- Maintain and enhance in-house software applications/databases and proprietary databases
- Participate in the design review process in order to identify and close gaps between business requirements and design
- Maintain and enhance existing serverless architecture on the AWS platform
- Strong focus on IT security concepts and principles
- Enhancement and support of existing nodejs and C++ codebase
- Respond to escalated support requests from end users at level three (last line support)
- Overseas Travel maybe required from time to time
Experience, Education, & Skills required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent years of relevant programming experience may be substituted for education
- 5-7+ years experience working with software development on a platform, such as nodejs and C++
- Experience with multiple programming other languages and technologies is highly desired. This may include: Qt, C#, HTML, XML, XSLT and Python
- Excellent understanding of coding methods and best practices
- Able to work in a fast-paced, challenging, and constantly changing environment
- Must have strong oral and written communication skills

City set to get smart services

ASPEN Vision City Sdn Bhd and TM One, the business arm of Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM), held a signing ceremony to commemorate an award issued to TM for the deployment and provision of extra-low voltage (ELV) service for the first phase of Aspen Vision City-Vervea, the largest gated-and- guarded commercial precinct in Batu Kawan, Penang.
The ELV service includes key lock system, card access, CCTV and access points.
“This collaboration does not only reflect our support towards the development of Vervea townships, but it’s also a testament to our commitment to introduce Internet of Things (IoT) and smart services for commercial properties of Penang,” said TM One (Enterprise Business) executive vice-president Wan Ahmad Kamal Wan Halim.
“In this digital era, the adoption of smart services and converged communications services will pave the way for the development of smart cities.
“We aim to help organisations and local councils in solving the diverse challenges in mobility and transportation, safety and security, environmental and social sustainability and public services which can be achieved through TM One’s smart solutions supported by our core capabilities and expertise in providing data centre, cloud and security services,” said Wan Ahmad Kamal.
Aspen Group executive director Datuk Seri Nazir Ariff added, “Both residents and business owners at Aspen Vision City will enjoy having a wide array of infrastructure, amenities as well as smart facilities and services at their disposal.
“Owners of residential units, for instance, will enjoy greater convenience and more control over their homes through various life-enhancing technologies such as IoT, and smart home systems.
“Fibre optic cabling has become a vital infrastructure in our developments.
“Today’s commercial developments must provide efficient and cost-effective environments for Information Age-based workers.
“This can be done through optimisation of its infrastructure. Productivity is the driving force as we are talking about real-time and instant integration and engagement with our customers,” said Nazir.
Set to be developed over multiple phases, Aspen Vision City will comprise an Ikea store, condominiums, bungalows, shop offices, serviced suites, hotel, office tower, financial centre, healthcare facilities and international school, among others.
Within the development will be a world-class trade and exhibition centre. Upon completion, large-scale concerts, auto shows, trade fairs and consumer exhibitions could become regular fixtures in the northern region’s calendar of events.
