It just seemed that the legal people associated with the Beng seemed to be very busy with a post-case PR programme in the media.

In view of what you say it could just be that he is doing his job for a genuine client - trying for the strongest possible negotiating position for a good deal for the Beng. That would make sense.

You've seen the Master and Commander film no doubt - remember the old salt with "hold fast" tatooed on his knuckles.
