Heametite, I have to say that you are wrong.
Yes they had an open auction and plenty went thru the doors but that does not mean that a counter bid will not eventuate.
Look at LIM the same thing happened the auction room was open for those who wanted to have a closer look and xstrata made the first move after that.
It still did not stop Norilsk to outbid them at the end.
Just like Bill is saying this company is just too good to pass and looking at how much money the big boys throw at the Laterite Nickel projects you have to ask yourself are these boys just so blind that they can not see the value in JBM????
Xstrata has seen the value and I am sure that the others have an other look at it.
BHP took their time with WMC before they threw in a counter bid , this could happen the same way with JBM.
time will tell
But for now we only have to look how many shares Xstrata is able to soak up, and those meagre 18% so far means that they may have to up the price.
