Their buy into HDR and TLW, and their behaviour since, is undoubtedly the result of a carefully though out strategy,How much of that strategy was based on reacting to circumstances (eg downsizing of Chinguetti) and how much planned in advance, one can but conjecture.
Don't forget, ML is an American company- the home of baseball where a double play is revered.I think we might see a double play evolving here, if the TLW bid goes through at current bid or higher, ML will emerge with around 15% of TLW . Then TLW goes into play. I'd be almost willing to bet there's a big oil major who can see an opportunity to put their foot on all of Uganda plus a whole lot of other juicy oil assets and prospects.
