To answer your question, We live in a very interconnected world and the banking and finance sector more so than others. The interconnectedness of global banks causes a ripple effect which reaches majority of global banks in direct or indirect ways. This coupled with people panicking and remembering the Lehman Brothers collapse that started the last GFC in 2008. However this bank is for startups and the tech sector and it's nice to see the support from the Fed and other backers to contain the fallout. Also to add from my research it was an idiotic CEO of SVB that caused all this nonsense from gross mis management and idiots decisions. it was a simple issue of privately raising some capital and a small amount too except he completely bungled the whole situation and made decisions that of a fool. He should be dragged through the courts and held accountable for his actions.
