"unsubstantiated tips and rumors" section, says Swiss-based Xstrata to put in
bid for Oxiana (OXR.AU) in next couple of days. Speculation been around for a
while, Crikey item says Xstrata successful in buying some of 74 million shares
sold recently. OXR up 1.1% at A$1.36. Same Crikey column yesterday instigated
speculation about HBOS bid for St. George (SGB.AU). (LMF,IGP)
